The Fox and The Hound
Celebrity Character Voice Autographs

Released during Disney's doldrums in 1981, "The Fox and The Hound" had a talented voice cast to give life to the cute critters. The highlight was the song "Best of Friends" sung by Pearl Bailey as Big Mama the owl. The movie was kitchy and a bit cloying, but it has its fans. Kurt Russell, of course, was a veteran of the Disney Studios, having appeared in dozens of movies and television programs going back to the early 1960's. Hollywood icon Mickey Rooney had also appeared in an earlier Disney movie, "Pete's Dragon".

Most Disney fans have a favorite character, and one of the things that makes each character special is the voice that is usually provided by a celbrity actor or actress. I've just created a special section of our site for our featured Voice Actor Autographs where we take the autograph of the voice actor and match it with some attractive art to create unique collectibles. Sandy Duncan was a Broadway singer and actress before becoming popular in television. She rose to fame in the stage production of "Peter Pan" with her pixie-ish hairdo. This piece fetures a 5x8" photo with Sandy Duncan's autograph with a 5x6" picture of Vixey from "The Fox and the Hound", in a 10x17" green lustre mat.

The perfect choice for Big Mamma in "The Fox and the Hound", Pearl Bailey was a legendary pop and gospel singer who lit up the stage and television screen to the delight of millions of Americans. She started in Vaudeville, but went on to win a Tony Award for her work on Broadway in the title role in an all-black production of "Hello Dolly". She passed away in 1990. This large collectible features Pearl Bailey's autograph on a 5x7" studio publicity photo inscribed, "All Love, Pearl Bailey" and includes a 7x9" picture of Big Mamma in a 12x20" mat.
