Original Series
Toy Story Toys

These are the original Toy Story toys released from 1995 through 2000 for "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2". Thinkway released the first series of Toy Story toys in November of 1995. Then, in 1996, they released additional toys which remained in production until the fall of 1999 when "Toy Story 2" was released in theaters. That film was accompanied by new packaging for the talking Buzz and Woody, and a new Pull-String Talking Jessie. Since then, Thinkway continued to update the packaging on the Buzz Lightyear and Woody, but the toys remained unchanged. We present here our selection of these original Toy Story toys for sale.

First Issue 12" Buzz Lightyear Ultimate Talking Action Figure

This is the true original Ultimate Talking Buzz Lightyear Action Figure. Note the yellow title stripe across the front of the box. This packaging was only used for the first production run of the toys in the fall of 1995. They were almost universally sold out by Thanksgiving of that year when the movie premiered. For the die-hard Toy Story collector, this is the quintessential item for your collection.

In all other respects, the toy is the same as all of the other model 62809 toys. He has Tim Allen's voice from the movie soundtrack saying "To Infinity And Beyond!", "This Is An Intergalactic Emergency!", and "Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue!." His wings pop-out, his helmet dome retracts, his arms, hands, and legs are fully poseable, and his laser gun in his arm lights up and buzzes. Best of all, he looks just like Buzz did in the movie. So often a toy won't look like the animated character, but this Buzz is the spittin' image of his computer-generated counterpart. Just an amazingly well-designed toy, fun to look at, and even more fun to play with.

12" Buzz Lightyear Ultimate Talking Action Figure

Buzz says 4 phrases with Tim Allen's voice. His arms and legs are fully articulated, his arm-mounted laser lights up and makes a special noise, his helmet dome retracts, and the green areas on his uniform glow in the dark. Let's face it, Buzz is just too cool for this planet. Packaging variations include bi-lingual French/English labeling made for Canadian markets, but the toy is always the same.

Poseable Pull-String Talking Woody

Toy Story 16 inch Poseable Pull-String Talking Woody Plush

The Pull-String Talking Woody says 5 phrases, "Howdy Partner!", "My name is Woody", "You're my favorite deputy", "Yeehaa! Cowboy!", and "There's a snake in my boot!" He has a detatchable cowboy hat, and just like in the movie, his six-gun is missing. He's a big guy, too, at 16". This was the very first Woody made. The wires in his arms and legs, which made him "Poseable", were deemed a child safety hazard and so he was redesigned in early 1996 and replaced with model 62943.

Toy Story 16 inch Pull-String Talking Woody

He's the same basic toy as the 62810, but with two improvements over the original 62810 Woody. This Woody does not have the wires in his arms, so there's no child safety hazard. This Woody also has an improved pull-string mechanism. The mechanism itself was made stronger and the ring at the end of the pull-string was made larger to reduce the child safety hazard for choking.

Intergalactic Talking Buzz Lightyear

Intergalactic Buzz Lightyear Talking Action Figure

How could you make Buzz better? Thinkway had the answer in 1996, by making him bigger, letting him say 5 phrases instead of just three, giving him some real shooting weapons, a shiny chrome-finish uniform that lights up, and a flip-up wrist communicator. I just love it when you press the button on his wrist communicator he says, "Buzz Lightyear to Star Command. Come in, Star Command!"

Buzz Lightyear Talking Bank

Buzz Lightyear Electronic Talking Bank

This Buzz says 2 different phrases, turns and salutes when he talks, and plays the Space Ranger Anthem. Okay, so maybe there is no Space Ranger Anthem, the music is wonderful anyway - very much like the theme from "Star Wars.". It all happens when you drop a coin in the slot, or press the button on the base. This is a much under-appreciated toy that any Toy Story collector would love.

Toy Story Talking Rex

Toy Story Talking Rex

Rex is the shy dinosaur who asks his friends if they were scared by his roar. This was one of the second series of Toy Story toys released by Thinkway in 1996. He was hard to find even when he was still being made. Now, of course, he's truly one of the rarest of the original Toy Story toys. Rex says, "I Don't Like Confrontations", "ROAR! Were you scared? Tell me honestly", and "I Get So Nervous", all using Shawn Wallace's original voice from the first movie. His head swivels and his arms and legs are poseable.

Toy Story Talking Alien

Toy Story Talking Alien Plush

The cute little three-eyed alien from The Claw Machine inside the Pizza Planet Restaurant. He stole the show! Squeeze his tummy and his heads lights up and he says "The Claw is my master,", "I have been chosen,", and "Oooohhh!" - thanks to the vocal talents of Pixar animator Jeff Pidgeon, some helium, and some space-age magic. Note: Our remaining inventory of this item all have some flaws in the packaging - usually just some wrinkles on the side of the box at the joint of the top canopy over his head. The box was not designed to take any stress and it shows on these toys. However, you will always get the best of what we have available at the time of your order.

Original Toy Story Bo-Peep

Toy Story Bo-Peep Doll

Woody's best girl with her... with her... sheep? Whatever that 3-headed beastie is, Woody had better hope Bo finds someone else to watch the flock tonight. Bo-Peep is an exquisitely detailed doll with a bright, colorful fabric dress and bonnet. Bo-Peep is one of the original series of Toy Story toys from 1995-1996. Now very hard to find at any price.

Hasbro Toy Story Mr. Potatohead

Toy Story Mr. Potatohead

This is the classic Mr. Potatohead by Hasbro in the original series Toy Story packaging. He's the real deal with over 20 parts that you assemble in any way you like. Remember the "I'm Picasso!" scene from the movie? Don Rickles was a perfect choice to bring this sassy character to life. Mr. Potatohead was a very popular toy in the 1950's and 60's. Back then, you could use a real potato! Caution: "Ages 2 and up" - it's on his box.

Toy Story Bucket O' Soldiers

Toy Story Bucket O' Soldiers

Who could forget those brave men who fought endless battles on your living room carpet amid the furniture when you were a kid? This is a great item. It's a set of 72 little plastic Green Army Men, two of which come with camouflage parachutes just like in the movie. By edict from director John Lasseter, they have extra heavy mold marks along the seams just the way the inexpensive classic toy did. Amazing and now very hard to find.

Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Spaceship

Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Electronic Spaceship

This toy is designed to hold two of the 5" action figures, and there's a storage compartment for little pieces like Woody's hat. It shoots little plastic discs, the see-through plastic dome retracts, and the interior console lights up. It plays a little music and shakes with an enormous vibration and makes a big WHOOSH! sound when you press the "Take-Off" button. Unbelievably cool!

Toy Story Hamm Bank

Toy Story Hamm Bank

The full-size Hamm Bank was only available in 1995 and early 1996. It didn't sell well - probably because he was a bit small and he didn't talk. Why in the world didn't they ever get John Ratzenberger to do the voice for a Hamm toy? I don't know. These plastic banks are about 6 inches from nose to tail and stand about 4 inches high. Mew in the original box, these are among the rarest Toy Story toys from the original series.

Playskool Talking Mr. Potatohead

Original Toy Story Talking Mr. Potatohead

Made by PlaySkool/Hasbro. Potatohead's about 5" high and talks with Don Rickles' voice taken right from the movie. He says 6 phrases from the original movie soundtrack. The Toy Story 2 talking toy uses another actor's voice, so this original version is doubly collectible.
