A brilliant piece for the die-hard fan of Disney Animation and the theme parks. This is an 8x10 publicity photo from the live-action feature "Pete's Dragon" that featured the lovable animated character of Eliot the Dragon, who was the creation of Ken Anderson whose autograph is on the print. Ken was one of the famed group of Disney animators known as Walt's Nine Old Men and who Walt always referred to as his "Jack Of All Trades" because he was so good at so many things. Ken was a favorite of Walt who used his artistic genius in all of the animated features from Snow White through The Jungle Book. Ken was also one of the first Imagineers who helped design Disneyland, second only perhaps to Marc Davis in his overall influence on the park. An Official Disney Legend, Ken sadly passed away on January 13, 1993. This print makes for a wonderful keepsake of one of his last major animation projects for Disney Animation.
Did you know that Walt Disney had a private apartment above the firehouse in Disneyland? As a prize at an Annual Passholder Event in 1995, we won dinner in that apartment which has been preserved since Walt's passing in 1966.
