In 1990, on the heels of a similar promotion for Mickey Mouse, Warner Bros. and Time Magazine issued a commemorative magazine that celebrated Bugs Bunny's 50th Anniversary. The magazine included a 7x10 inch printed cel of Bugs sitting in a movie theater, complete with a nice background. The magazine itself has all sorts of treats for fans of the Wascaly Wabbit, including interviews with Chuck Jones and Friz Freleng, the two men most associated with Bugs over the years. Real animation fans will also get a kick out of the dozens of "birthday cards" from famous comic strip artists from Charles Shultz to Matt Groening. There are articles galore, including Leonard Maltin's picks of the 10 best Bugs Bunny cartoons, and Steven Spielberg introducing "Tiny Toons" Roughly 60 pages in all. Just a wonderful and very affordable animation collectible. |
