Daisy Duck Watercolor Original ArtworkFrom our personal collection, this is an original watercolor on artboard
of Daisy Duck. We got this at one of the Official Disneyana Conventions where Disney
would often sell unusual items from their archives. This painting was made for an
in-flight movie, probably in conjunction with Disney's partnership with Delta Airlines,
but I can't be sure. She's about 6x9 inches in a 12x15 inch frame. There are some
scratches on the frame, but the piece is in good to very good condition overall. It's
one of the few Daisy Duck collectibles I've ever seen. |
Disneyland's Frontierland Bears Concept Art Print - LARGEThis piece is a reproduction of concept art by Disney Legend Marc Davis for
Frontierland in Disneyland. Identical copies have hung on the walls of the Disneyland Hotel for
the past several decades. According to the Cast Member at the Official Disneyana Convention where
we purchased it, the Hotel had made many copies of Mr. Davis' work so that when the hung copies
faded with time they could be replaced. But storing them became a problem, so they sold some of
the excess at the Disneyana Convention. This one is 12x15" in a 17x20" mat and is autographed by Marc Davis who
sadly passed away in January, 2000. |

Disneyland Jungle Book Disney Classics PrintThis is from the series of prints called "Disney Classics" that were
sold in Disneyland in the late 1960's and early 1970's to supplement or replace the cels that they
had traditionally sold in the park. These are prints made from original animation art using a
high-quality process called "dye transfer" that was remarkable for the color quality
and stability. Until the 1970's, dye transfer was the preferred method of reproducing images
from transparencies like slides or movies because it produced rich colors and archival
quality prints. These prints are so good that you have to look very closely to be sure that
what you're seeing isn't actually a real cel. This one features the stars of Disney's "The Jungle Book", Mowgli and
Baloo the bear in a wonderful pose. The piece measures 7x10" in a 13x15" mat overlaid on the
original Disneyland mat and still has the original gold seal on the back. |
Disneyland Hotel Jungle Cruise LithoFramed versions of this sepia-toned lithograph depicting the
Amazon Belle from Adventureland's Jungle Cruise attraction were previously displayed
at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California. This unframed lithograph was never
framed for display. Size is approx. 17-½x23" and printed on elegant
heavy paper stock. |
Mickey Mouse Disney Impressions PrintThis bold art is very unusual for the image, the size, and the printing method. It
looks like it's embossed. It's labeled "Disney Impressions", which I believe is part of a
product line developed by Enesco in 2001 that included some home decor products. The piece measures
11x15" in a 14x19" mat. For the discerning collector of Disney art. |
Fantasia Sugar Plum Fairy PrintFrom the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies" sequence in Disney's
original "Fantasia", this delicate print was sold in the Animation Gallery in the Disney/MGM
Studios Theme Park in Walt Disney World in the early 1990's. It measures 9x12" in a 12x16" mat. |
Pinocchio Liberty Magazine CoverThis is the cover of Liberty magazine, dated March 2, 1940. It features a wonderful image of
Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Cleo the fish, and Figaro the cat. The art is approximately 8x11" in a 11x14" mat.
Excellent condition. |

Nobody does promotions better than Disney, and the artwork they create for their advertising and promotional materials has long been popular with collectors. But most people today are unaware that Disney used to license their characters for use in advertising for other companies. That was back in the days when the Disney company was struggling to make ends meet, particularly during the 10-15 years following World War II. Disney's revenues shrank dramatically during the War, and it took several years before films like "Cinderella", "Alice in Wonderland", and "Peter Pan" started to help the company's finances. Of course, as soon as the money did start coming in again, Walt began to build Disneyland and put the company and his own personal wealth on the line once again. We're pleased to offer some examples of this art for sale here and hope that you enjoy seeing it.
Advertising Design Artwork for Disney's AladdinThis is design art for bus stop poster advertising campaign in 1992. It is a combination of pen and
ink, along with mechanical paste-up art. A most unusual piece of Aladdin memoribelia. It measures 12x18"
shrinkwrapped onto a sheet of foamcore. The protective foamcore backing has been damaged in the bottom right-hand corner,
but the artwork is fine. |
Ad Slick Paste-up for Disney's AladdinThis piece consists of a paste-up of four 10x6" advertising masters for "Aladdin" that were being worked on during the
prelude to the 1993 Academy Awards. It notes the various nominations this wonderful film received. There are some
artist's comments and corrections visible in two places. The overall piece is shrinkwrapped onto a sheet of
protective foamcore. The foamcore backing has been damaged in the lower left-hand corner, but the artwork is intact. |
Disney Gremilns Lifesavers Magazine AdDuring World War II, Disney produced a lot of art for the government, including many
training films for the troops. In one of those training films, they created a set of characters called
"gremlins" who were mischevious imps who would cause difficult problems in motors and guns.
This magazine advertisement for Lifesavers candy from that era used gremlins in humorous poses. Undated,
the page measures 10x14" and is in very good condition with some slight yellowing. It's a great
cross-collectible piece of Disney art. |
Peter Pan Admiral Magazine AdDuring the 1940's and 50's when Disney was low on cash, they allowed their characters to be
used in advertisements. This is a four-page section of a magazine from 1953 for Admiral appliances
using characters from "Peter Pan" which promoted the movie as being in the theaters at the
time. There's Pan, of course, along with some of the Indians
and mermaids on the first page. Other characters appear on the third page of this material. It's
a lesser known, but attractive piece of Disney history. |
Edward Gorey Art - "Print" Magazine CoverEdward Gorey was a famous artist and illustrator in the 20th Century. Known for his
macabre art, he is probably best known in America for the opening sequence for the PBS series "Mystery!"
This cover from the graphics industry magazine "Print" is a classic Gorey work. The art measures 9x12" and is covered with
a clear sheet of mylar for gloss and protection, and comes in a 12x16" double mat. |
Kliban Cats LithoKliban's cats are famous the world over. If you're a fan, no more needs
to be said. Check out these cute kitties enjoying Chinese food and trying to use the
chopsticks. Hilarious! It measures 8x10" in a 11x14" mat. |
Opus - Bloom County PrintOpus the penguin was the soul of Berke Breathed's wonderful comic strip,
"Bloom County". We see him here walking in the Antarctic in a simple, but attractive
print. It measures 6x9" in a 9x12" mat. |
