I've just posted a set of framed Disneyland mini attraction posters from the Disney Gallery in Disneyland. These are from our personal collection that we no longer have wall space for following our recent move. You can buy them individually, but you'll get a real steal on the entire set. See Them Now! before someone breaks up the set!
Most Disney fans have a favorite character, and one of the things that makes each character special is the voice that is usually provided by a celbrity actor or actress. I've just created a special section of our site for our featured Voice Actor Autographs where we take the autograph of the voice actor and match it with some attractive art to create unique collectibles. In addition, each movie's page has a list of the main characters and the names of the actors who gave them their voice. Who Dat? Follow the link and find out!
I've been working hard lately to refresh the images on our site. The work is long overdue, but the good news is that it's given me the chance to photograph a lot of art that we've never shown online before. For example, I just added a new page of cels from Adventures in Dinosaur City and cels from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I've also added a lot of cels from independent productions like Allegro Non Troppo. You'll continue to see better images over the coming weeks, so if you can't get a good look now, please visit again soon!

On This Page: [ Disney Ephemera ] [ Storyboard Magazine ]
Ephemera sounds so much more sophisticated than simply "paper", but that's what it refers to: collectible paper items. Disney Studios and the theme parks like Disneyland and Walt Disney World create some simply amazing documents, portfolios, and flyers that usually include some wonderful art or exceptional information about their creations and the creative geniuses behind them. We were lucky enough to get many of these fun items signed by the artists who created them. A word of caution: this is a very addictive form of collectibles.
First Disneyland Guidebook from 1955The must-have item for any Disneyland collection is the original guidebook
that was sold when the park first opened in 1955. This illustrated booklet was created before
the park was completed, so there are no actual photographs in it. Late in 1955, it was replaced
by the "Disneyland In Natural Color" guidebook like the replica shown below which did
contain photographs of the various attractions. But this guidebook remains an iconic souvenir
from that memorable year when the world discovered The Happiest Place On Earth. The guidebook sold for
$1.00 and cost Disney over $1.00 to print, but they sold them with mailing envelopes so that
the first visitors could send them to friends and family who would then be tempted to visit
Disneyland themselves. By all accounts, they were so successful that this is why the guidebooks
remain a staple of Disneyland merchandise to this day. This copy is in very fine condition with only minor flaws. |
Disneyland In Natural Color Guidebook 50th Anniversary EditionAs a part of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary celebration in 2005, they reproduced
the first souvenir guide that contained color photographs of the park. The original souvenir
guide contained only artists' drawings of the park, and Disneyland sold thousands of them until
late in 1955 when they released this book. The reproduction is excellent. You'd be hard pressed
to point out any major flaws. Considering original copies of the guidebook sell for over $200.00,
this is a real bargain for collectors of Disneyland paper memoribelia on a budget. |
Pete's Dragon Photo with Ken Anderson AutographA brilliant piece for the die-hard fan of Disney Animation and the theme parks.
This is an 8x10 publicity photo from the live-action feature "Pete's Dragon"
that featured the lovable animated character of Eliot the Dragon, who was the
creation of Ken Anderson whose autograph is on the print. Ken was one of the
famed group of Disney animators known as Walt's Nine Old Men and who Walt
always referred to as his "Jack Of All Trades" because he was so good at so many things. Ken was a
favorite of Walt who used his artistic genius in all of the animated features
from Snow White through The Jungle Book. Ken was also one of the first Imagineers
who helped design Disneyland, second only perhaps to Marc Davis in his overall
influence on the park. An Official Disney Legend, Ken sadly passed away
on January 13, 1993. This print makes for a wonderful keepsake of one of his
last major animation projects for Disney Animation. |
Disneyland 1991 Upper Deck Trading Cards and PassportIn 1991, as a part of the promotion for the sports franchises they'd recently purchased,
Disney issued a special set of Upper Deck trading cards along with a commemorative passport. The cards
feature Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Roger Rabbit in sports regalia with pictures of Disneyland in the
background. The five card set included the commemorative passport good for one adult admission to
Disneyland. The passport shows all four characters, and is still good for a discount toward admission. The
eminently collectible trading cards by Upper Deck are mounted on a 12x14"
sheet of matboard that been shrinkwrapped and mounted on foamcore so it's ready for framing. |
Disneyland Wet Paint SignAs everyone knows, Disneyland is always being refreshed and refurbished, so they often have
to warn guests about hazards such as wet paint. This is a classic Disneyland wet paint sign featuring Donald
Duck and one of the nephews, and is inscribed "©1987 The Walt Disney Company". The sign
measures 11x14" and is shrinkwrapped on foamcore and is ready for framing.

Main Street Electrical Parade PhotoHere we have an 8x10" publicity photo of Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade. The
photo is covered with a clear sheet of mylar for added gloss and protection. It comes in an 11x14" mat. Please
forgive the reflections in the night sky in the picture here.

Bugs Bunny 50th Birthday Magazine with SericelIn 1990, on the heels of a similar promotion for Mickey Mouse, Warner Bros. issued
a commemorative magazine that celebrated Bugs Bunny's 50th Anniversary. The magazine included a 7x10
inch printed cel of Bugs sitting in a movie theater, complete with a nice background. The magazine
itself has all sorts of treats for fans of the Wascaly Wabbit, including interviews with Chuck Jones
and Friz Freleng, the two men most associated with Bugs over the years. Real animation fans will also
get a kick out of the dozens of "birthday cards" from famous comic strip artists from Charles
Shultz to Matt Groening. There are articles galore, including Leonard Maltin's picks of the 10 best
Bugs Bunny cartoons, and Steven Spielberg introducing "Tiny Toons" Roughly 60 pages in all.
Just a wonderful and very affordable collectible. |
The Lion King on Broadway ProgramWe got this when The Lion King stage show was in San Francisco.
10x13 inches, with roughly 30 pages of gorgeous full-color photographs and a quote
on each page from one of the key creative people who made this show the spectacular
exhibition of the Disney animated feature. |
Disney's Pocahontas Commemorative ProgramThese beautiful Pocahontas programs were first sold at the Premiere In Central Park in New York
in the summer of 1995. They were later sold at six selected theaters across the country. We have two versions available,
the one from Central Park and the one from the El Capitan theater in Hollywood. These books are 11x14" and are
filled with artwork that just screams to be on a wall. Few promotional items give as much fan satisfaction as
these original theatrical release programs. Central Park Issue El Capitan Issue |
The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh Comic BookIssued in 1964, this one of very few collectibles based on the popular series from Disney television "The
Scarecrow of Romney Marsh". The series starred Patrick McGoohan, the British actor who went on to
greater fame in his own TV series "Secret Agent" (a.k.a. "Dangerman") and the later cult
classic "The Prisoner" and also in movies like "Ice Station Zebra". The comic is in
fair to good condition. The front cover has some damage at the outside corners, and the back cover has a 1x1/2" piece
torn away at the bottom. But the inside pages are complete, emminently readable and very clean. |
Animator Eric Goldberg AutographLike most Disney fans, we first became aware of Eric Goldberg's many
talents when he was the lead animator of the Genie in "Aladdin" He has since
gone on to create many wonderful characters, he co-directed "Pocahontas" and directed several sequences in "Fantasia 2000" -
"The Carnival of the Animals", "Rhapsody In Blue" based on the George Gershwin music and the art of Al Hirshfeld,
and the house favorite, "Saint-Saens" featuring the yo-yo playing flamingo. This 8-1/2x11"
litho was issued by ASIFA Hollywood at their annual convention in Hollywood in 1996. Its a self-charicature
of Eric and he was gracious enough to autograph this piece for us at that event. |
Jafar Print Signed by Andreas DejaNoted Disney animator Andreas Deja really hit his stride when he created
the evil Jafar in 1992's "Aladdin" He had worked for Disney for nearly ten years when
that film was made. This 8-1/2x11" litho was a convention gift at the 1993 National Fantasy
Fan Club convention where Andreas appeared as a speaker and autographed this litho for us. Its
showing some age with very minor corner crumpling, but perfect for matting. |
Storyboard Magazine was produced in the early 1990's by an amazing individual named Steve Fiott. Steve was an artist who worked at Disney for some time, and obviously shared our fondness for Walt Disney and animation. The magazine was printed on heavy, glossy stock and not cheap pulp like many amateur collector's magazines of the day. Steve was in constant contact with artists and animators at Disney during the rebirth of Disney Animation in the era of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "The Little Mermaid", and so he was able to write particularly detailed and knowledgeable articles about Disney animation, Disney theme parks, and Disney collectibles through direct interviews. He also sponsored a few Disney collectibles events in the Disneyland area, at which he was able to get these normally invisible artists to appear and share their knowledge and experiences. Steve was particularly generous to Maggie and me when we were still very new as dealers, and he was especially helpful in marketing my book about Walt Disney, for which I will be eternally grateful. Sadly, Steve died unexpectedly on June 6, 1995 while on a trip to Burbank to arrange appearances by animators for his next event. We present these special autographed copies of Storyboard as a tribute to Steve, and we hope that you enjoy them.
