Buzz Lightyear! What a name! Did you know that when John Lasseter was creating Toy Story back in the early 1990s the Buzz Lightyear character's name was originally going to be "Lunar Larry?" Boy! What a dud that would have been. And the original concept drawings made Buzz look more like a munchkin who had been living in 4-G's all his life. We're sure glad the boys at Pixar gave us the Buzz Lightyear we know and love. He's the most popular of all of the Toy Story toys, and one of the most popular toy action figures of all time. That's right... Buzz Lightyear is not a doll, and not just a toy spaceman, he's an action figure! Remember, its like falling... with style!

First Issue 12" Buzz Lightyear Ultimate Talking Action Figure

This is the true original Ultimate Talking Buzz Lightyear Action Figure. Note the yellow stripe across the front of the box. This packaging was only used for the first production run of the toys in the fall of 1995. They were almost universally sold out by Thanksgiving of that year when the movie premiered. For the die-hard Toy Story collector, this is the quintessential item for your collection.

In all other respects, the toy is the same as all of the other model 62809 toys. He has Tim Allen's voice from the movie soundtrack saying "To Infinity And Beyond!", "This Is An Intergalactic Emergency!", and "Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue!." His wings pop-out, his helmet dome retracts, his arms, hands, and legs are fully poseable, and his laser gun in his arm lights up and buzzes. Best of all, he looks just like Buzz did in the movie. So often at toy won't look like the animated character, but this Buzz is the spittin' image. Just an amazingly well-designed toy, fun to look at, and even more fun to play with. We love Buzz!

12" Buzz Lightyear Ultimate Talking Action Figure

This Buzz Lightyear says 4 phrases with Tim Allen's voice taken straight from the first Toy Story movie soundtrack. His arms and legs are fully articulated so he can be posed, his arm-mounted laser lights up and makes a special noise, his helmet dome retracts, and the green areas on his uniform glow in the dark. Let's face it, Buzz is just too cool for this planet.

How could you make Buzz better? By making him bigger, letting him say 5 phrases instead of just three, give him some real shooting weapons, a shiny chrome-finish uniform that lights up, and a flip-up wrist communicator, that's how. I just love it when you press the button on his wrist communicator he says, "Buzz Lightyear to Star Command. Come in, Star Command!"

Toy Story And Beyond 12" Buzz Lightyear Ultimate Talking Action Figure

Here's our hero Buzz Lightyear back again. This is the same 12-inch talking Buzz Lightyear toy as the original #62809 Buzz Lightyear Ultimate Talking Action Figure from 1995 (shown below), but now it comes in a Toy Story And Beyond box. This Buzz Lightyear still has Tim Allen's voice saying "To Infinity and Beyond!" etc., the laser light in his arm, the retractable helmet, pop-up wings, and the uniform that glows in the dark. This talking Buzz Lightyear would be a remarkable toy in any package. Even after more than ten years, this remains the quintessential Toy Story toy. We're sure glad Buzz is still with us, but he's getting very hard to find! Made by Thinkway Toys.
