Artist Sam McKim and Imagineer Bob Gurr were both instrumental in the creation of Disneyland. Sam McKim drew concept art for many attractions, and made other noteworthy contributions over the years. Sam's life was like the plot of an old Hollywood movie. He was a child actor in movies before becoming an artist. He worked for Fox Studios for a short time before coming to Disney. Bob Gurr is an Imagineer most famous for designing the cars for Autopia, and who worked on many of the original attractions in Disneyland. Both of these Disney Legends made a guest appearance at the 1996 Disneyana Fun Fair in Anaheim, and autographed these souvenir photos for the attendees - which included us! Also appearing in the photo are Van France, founder of the Disney University for training Disneyland Cast Members, and noted Imagineers Bruce Gordon and David Mumford who authored the popular book, "Disneyland: The Nickel Tour" that tells the history of Disneyland postcards. Here's a great collectible for any Disneyland fan. |
