The Little Mermaid marked the rebirth of Disney Feature Animation, following nearly 20 years of mediocre attempts to recapture the magic the Studio lost following the passing of Walt Disney in 1966. The charming tale of a young mermaid who yearned for a better life on the land was blessed with an enormously talented voice cast, featuring the talented Jodi Benson as the voice of young Ariel, and anchored by veteran actors like Buddy Hackett and Pat Carrol. It was the first of a string of four truly great movies that included "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", and capped with the blockbuster hit, "The Lion King" We offer here some unique collectibles from the one the restarted it all.

Who among us Disney fans didn't fall in love with Ariel? Jodi Benson gave her strength and innocence that we all admire in young women. We were lucky to meet her at several Disney events and she's just as charming as you would hope and imagine her to be. This autographed index card is inscribed the way she always signs, "God Bless, Jodi Benson, Ariel". A perfect choice for any "Litte Mermaid" collector.

Popular comedian Buddy Hackett brought his own special zaniness to the character of Scuttle the seagull in the 1989 animated feature "The Little Mermaid". Here he's shown explaining to Ariel that the mysterious object she's found is called a Dinglehopper. No home should be without one, of course. Sadly, Buddy Hackett passed away on June 30, 2003 at the age of 78. He was noted for his outrageous nightclub act and for his hilarious appearances on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" from the 1960s through the 1990s. He appeared in a handful of movies, most notably in "The Music Man" where he reprised his Broadway role and "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". Yes, I'm a fan of this amazing man. The piece itself is a signed 3x5 index card with a 7x8 inch print, covered in mylar and mounted in an 11x14 inch mat.

Rene Auberjonois is a fine actor who rose to fame as Father Mulcahey in the movie "M*A*S*H" Most Americans know him for his television roles in "Benson", "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", and most recently, "Boston Legal". He gave a particular flair to the character of Chef Louis in "The Little Mermaid". This outstanding collectible piece includes a 10x6" signed drawing of Chef Louis done by Mr. Aberjonois with a 6x6" picture of the character, covered in mylar and mounted in an 12x16" mat.
