Diego Rivera Autograph - San Francisco World's Fair Tribute

In 1939, San Francisco held a World's Fair called "The Golden Gate International Exposition" to celebrate the iconic bridge. The theme was "Pageant of the Pacific". The organizers built an artificial island in San Francisco Bay to hold the event, dubbed "Treasure Island" and it held many wonderous exhibits and had movie and television stars performing on stage. The fair was such a success that it was held over for a second year. One of the reasons it was so successful (despite competing with New York's World's Fair being held at the same time), was the work of artists such as the famed muralist Diego Rivera. He painted a ten-panel mural titled "Pan American Unity" while the fair progressed. This piece is a tribute to that work. It features a picture of one of Mr. Rivera's murals, a 3x4" photo of him working on the exhibit, a 3x4" page from an autograph book signed by Diego Rivera, and a ticket for the Exposition. The autograph was obtained personally by my late wife who worked at the Fair, and she also took the photograph shown here at that time. The piece measures 15x18".

Jack Benny Autograph

Beloved comedian Jack Benny rose to fame on his radio show that ran for roughly 20 years, and then went on to conquer television as well. His reknown dead pan slayed audiences, and was Johnny Carson's mentor. This piece features a 4x5" page from an autograph book with an 8x10" color photo of Jack in a 18" mat. The autograph was obtained in-person by my late wife when Jack Benny performed at the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition held on Treasure Island in San Francisco.

Lauren Bacall Autograph

From our personal collection, it's a Lauren Bacall autograph with photo. The autograph is on a 3x5" index card matted with a nice photo of the dazzling dame of movies - notably those starring Humphrey Bogart, her husband who famously dubbed her "Slim" when they first worked together in "To Have and Have Not" where she wowed audiences at the tender age of 19. I'm nuts for her, and I'm sure any fan would love this piece. Forgive the reflection in the photo. The mat is 8x10".
