Walt Disney was the first person to give an animated character a voice when he was the
voice of Mickey Mouse in "Steamboat Willie", the studio's first cartoon with sound. Later, starting with the first full-length animated feature
"Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs", Disney used the talents of popular movie actors and actresses for
many character voices. These immensely talented performers helped form the personalities of the characters we all love by imparting
a piece of themselves in their portrayals. Rainbo Animation Art celebrates these outstanding actors by creating
unique pieces of art that marries their autographs together with the images of the immortal characters they've created. Each
piece is professionally matted using archival materials and is covered with a sheet of mylar to add luster and to
protect it. This makes each of these collectibles one-of-a-kind. The signatures in all of our autographs are guaranteed
to be authentic. We either get the signatures ourselves directly from the actor, or we buy them from reputable dealers who make the same guarantee to us.
Rainbo Animation Art is proud to present these unique celebrity character voice autographs for sale from several different
Disney animated features and cartoons. Disney has always managed to find talented actors and
actresses to provide the voices for their characters. In the beginning, they were blessed by the
stable of character actors who were staples of the Studio System in Hollywood, and many were simply
friends of Walt who were willing to work for him for much less than their regular salary. In more
recent years, television and movie stars have been willing to do this job for the notoriety it brings
to be associated with Disney movies and for the acting challenge involved in creating the voice of
an animated character. In presenting these autographs, we include details of the actor's biography
and background, and a list of the main characters in each film and the names of the actors who
voiced them.
We have included a few autographs under the picture links below. And don't
miss our page of autographs of actors, artists, and celebrities.

Disney Celebrity Voice Autographs
I've just posted a set of framed Disneyland mini attraction posters from the Disney Gallery in Disneyland. These are from our personal collection that we no longer have wall space for following our recent move. You can buy them individually, but you'll get a real steal on the entire set. See Them Now! before someone breaks up the set!
Most Disney fans have a favorite character, and one of the things that makes each character special is the voice that is usually provided by a celbrity actor or actress. I've just created a special section of our site for our featured Voice Actor Autographs where we take the autograph of the voice actor and match it with some attractive art to create unique collectibles. In addition, each movie's page has a list of the main characters and the names of the actors who gave them their voice. Who Dat? Follow the link and find out!
I've been working hard lately to refresh the images on our site. The work is long overdue, but the good news is that it's given me the chance to photograph a lot of art that we've never shown online before. For example, I just added a new page of cels from Adventures in Dinosaur City and cels from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I've also added a lot of cels from independent productions like Allegro Non Troppo. You'll continue to see better images over the coming weeks, so if you can't get a good look now, please visit again soon!

Clarence Nash as Donald Duck AutographClarence "Ducky" Nash created the voice for Donald Duck in the 1930's and
performed for Donald and Disney until shortly before he passed away in 1985. In those later years, he
trained Disney animator Tony Anselmo to do Donald. This piece is a tribute to Mr. Nash. It contains
an 8x10" publicity photo of Clarence with a Donald Duck doll, matched with a page from a Studio
press release for "Mickey's Christmas Carol" (in which Clarence was the only original voice)
inscribed to a young fan, "Hi Mike, Donald Duck & Clarence 'Ducky' Nash". The mat
measures a big and bold 16x20". |
Cliff Edwards as Jiminy Cricket AutographJiminy Cricket was the miraculous result of the artistic genius of animator Ward Kimball and
the unique vocal talent of Vaudevillian Cliff Edwards. Edwards was known to audiences as "Ukelele Ike"
and performed a small string of jazz and novelty records, culminating in a 1929 hit single with his rendition of "Singin' In The Rain".
In 2002, his recording of "When You Wish Upon A Star" was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. After a
hard life of personal challenges and tragedies, he passed away in 1971. Edward's Jiminy Cricket was the grounding of the story in "Pinocchio"
and was so charming that Disney brought the character back many times to narrate cartoons and television programs,
most notably the "I'm No Fool" series of educational films that were shown to schoolchildren for
many years. This rare piece features Cliff Edwards' autograph taken from an autograph book, and includes a page from
a children's book in an 11x14" mat. |
Mary Costa as Sleeping Beauty AutographMary Costa has had a long career as an opera singer. She is one of very few Disney voice
actresses who didn't come from Hollywood. But the role as Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty demanded a
singer who could do justice to the movie's magical score, especially the featured song "Once Upon A
Dream". We've met her several times at Disney events, and she is truly a princess of a woman, both
beautiful and gracious. This collectible features a 5x7" picture of Aurora and Prince Philip, over
her autograph (which is actually a signed photo of Ms. Costa). The mat measures 14x11" and the art is covered
with a sheet of mylar. |
Matthew Broderick as Simba Autograph"The Lion King" marked the pinnacle of the revival of Disney animation.
Matthew Broderick voiced the featured character Simba as an adult. Broderick rose to fame in the 1980's
movies "War Games" and the comedy "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". The picture here is of his
character Simba atop Pride Rock is 8x8", the autographed index
card is 2x4" - all in a 12x16" mat. |
John Candy as OrvilleWhen production started on "The Rescuers Down Under" (1990) Fibber McGee, the original
voice of Orville had passed away. So Disney tapped veteran comic actor John Candy to fill the role. John rose to fame on "Second City
Television" in the 1970's, and appeared in many movies like "Stripes" and "Planes, Trains,
and Automobiles" before passing away in 1994. This oversized artwork features a picture of Orville
mounted over a signed 8x10" photo of John Candy. The piece measures approximately 11x22". |
Stan Freberg as Beaver from Lady and The Tramp AutographWho could forget the industrious Beaver from "Lady and The Tramp"? He was voiced by an
amazing performer and comedy writer, Stan Freberg, whose name might not be familiar to you unless you
are of a certain age. He actually started in Hollywood doing voices for animation for Warner Bros. in the late 1940's. Later, he had a series of comedy albums and radio programs that were popular in the late 1950's
though the 1960's that often featured stars of animation June Foray and Daws Butler. He produced several popular television commercials that were outrageously funny. One for
Jen's Pizza Rolls featured Clayton Moore as The Lone Ranger with Jay Silverheels as Tonto. My favorite was the
one for Sunsweet Prunes highlighting the fact that they had no pits in which a man complains, "They're still
rather badly wrinkled, you know" to which the announcer replies, "Today the pits; Tomorrow The Wrinkles;
Sunsweet marches on!" Freberg won a total of 21 Clio Awards for his commercials. But, of course Lady and The Tramp
fans will always love his portrayal of the industrious beaver who frees Tramp from his muzzle. This piece features a
page from an autograph book signed by Stan Freberg, with a 3x5" picture of this amazing man, with a 5x5"
picture of the Beaver with Lady and Tramp in the background, each covered with a clear sheet of mylar
in an 12x16" mat. |
William "Billy" Costello Popeye AutographWilliam Costello was a drummer when he was cast as the original voice of Popeye the Sailor in the Fleischer Bros.
cartoons in the early 1930's that was based on the King Features comic strip character. Costello only
voiced the character for a couple of years, but he set the stage for those who followed him. He passed away in 1971. This piece
features a very rare signed 3-½x5" publicity photo of Mr. Costello inscribed "Best Wishes,
Popeye, Billy Costello" and is matted with a picture of the character. The mat measures 14x11" |
